A SpaceX post shared the first image of the rocket, saying Dragon has arrived at its hangar at Pad 39A in Florida ahead of its maiden flight. The Falcon 9 is set to send Dragon and @Axiom_Space’s Ax-4 crew to the @Space_Station. When? That’s the big day. The Axiom-4 mission will launch aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket aboard a SpaceX Dragon capsule. In a statement, Axiom Space said the Axiom-4 crew will launch from Launch Complex 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
It was previously scheduled to launch at 6:41 p.m. on June 8. But it was pushed back two days to June 10. No official reason was given for the delay, though. A source said the delay was due to weather conditions during the spacecraft’s transit and the vehicle’s final pre-launch procedures.
Group Captain Subhanshu Shukla will serve as the pilot of the Axiom-4 mission. Shukla will be accompanied by Poland’s SÅ‚aws Użanski-Wiżniewski, Hungary’s Tibor Kapu, and former NASA astronaut and mission commander Peggy Whitson. After docking, the astronauts will conduct various activities in orbit for 14 days. Subhanshu’s space trip is a historic event for India. It comes 40 years after Rakesh Sharma’s iconic spacewalk.
