Text PDFs import directly, and scanned or image-only pages can now use OCR before opening in the editor.

If a page is image-only, OCR will read the text before opening it in the editor.

OCR is slower than normal text import, but it helps turn scanned PDF pages into editable text.

PDF to Text

Modern browsers will open the PDF in a direct page editor first, with optional OCR for scanned pages. If that fails, the page falls back to server import automatically.

Best for

  • Invoices, letters, notices, contracts, forms, and text-heavy PDFs
  • Correcting typos, updating names, changing values, and re-exporting quickly
  • Page-by-page editing when you need a fresh PDF output

Know the limitation

Complex layouts and protected PDFs may not preserve their exact original positioning. OCR results from scanned pages should always be reviewed before export.
